Some of the men of the 369th (15th N.Y.) -- better known as the Harlem Hellfighters -- who won the Croix de Guerre for gallantry in action following World War I.

African American soldiers have always been a significant part of our military history but their contributions are often overlooked. Countless men and women have served bravely despite being subjected to discrimination and unfair treatment.
