The 12th District Special

Counties continue to certify votes in the 12th District election and Republican Troy Balderson seems to have a strong lead over Democrat Danny O'Connor. Balderson now enjoys a margin of 1,781 votes, with updated tallies from Muskingum and Delaware counties.

However, five counties, including Franklin County, still need to certify their results. It would take a margin of 0.5 percent or less to trigger an automatic recount.

I'll Take "Political Ads" For $100, Alex

As we get closer to November, more and more ads for the governor's race are hitting the airwaves.

This week, Richard Cordray's campaign released a light-hearted adtouting his history as a Jeopardy! champion. In fact, he won the quiz show five times in a row. Cordray also released an ad in which he read a "mean" tweet about him, a copy of Jimmy Kimmel's recurring segment.

Meanwhile, Mike DeWine's camp released an ad accusing Cordray of being lax in processing rape kits while he was Attorney General. "Cordray's failure left serial rapists free to strike again," the ad declares.
