In this week's episode of Snollygoster, Ohio's politics podcast from WOSU, hosts Mike Thompson and Steve Brown discuss Senator Sherrod Brown's tour of five key early primary states as he explores a bid for president.

On NPR's Morning Edition Sen. Brown said the tour will ultimately help him decide whether or not to run for president.

Sherrod Brown's "Dignity of Work" Tour

The Democratic field for president is starting to rapidly grow. While he hasn't officially announced whether he's running, Sherrod Brown is going on tour and appeared this week on NPR's Morning Edition and cable news shows. The tour, which will start later this month in Cleveland, will take him to five states, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina. Those states just so happen to hold early primaries next year.

Beck talks about Sherrod Brown's tour and what all the other declarations mean for the 2020 Democratic Presidential race.

Ohio Has A New Governor

New Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine took office Monday and gave a pretty straight-forward inaugural address that didn't talk much policy - but it did touch on at a couple issues including the opioid epidemic and protecting Lake Erie.

The new governor signed several executive orders right after taking office including coordinating the state's anti-drug effort and discrimination protections for pregnant women and foster parents. He also kept in place an executive order from John Kasich that banned discrimination in the state workforce based on gender identity.

John Kasich GPS Arrives At Its Destination

Since Snollygoster started 10 months ago, we’ve been playfully tracking the movements of Ohio's now former Gov. John Kasich in a segment called John Kasich GPS. The GPS has lead Kasich to CNN

Kasich premiered on Tuesday night with Chris Cuomo as a commentator.

Kasich also signed with a talent agent this week.

Mike Thompson spends much of his time correcting people who mispronounce the name of his hometown – Worcester, Massachusetts. Mike studied broadcast journalism at Syracuse University when he was not running in circles – as a distance runner on the SU track team.
